About Serian
Serian is the center of the Serian District. Serian District is a district under the administration of Samarahan Division since 1987. Before the park under the administration Samarahan, Serian formerly known by the name 'Upper Sadong' under the administration of the First Division of Kuching in 1901.
Serian district has an area of 1,762.4 square kilometers covering a small area Tebedu. Serian District Office was inaugurated on August 28, 1971 by the Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Haji Abdul Rahman Yakub.
